IIT Mandi to host ‘5G Use Case Lab’, to develop apps in these areas

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has chosen Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) to host a 5G use-case lab. The lab, set up by the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, will facilitate the development and experimentation of 5G applications in various sectors. The objectives of the lab include building competencies in 5G technologies among students, enabling projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and promoting academia-industry engagement. The lab will also provide local access to 5G test setups for startups and MSMEs. Applications of 5G technologies in e-Healthcare, Smart Cities, and Next-generation Communication will be explored.
